What is everyones honest opinions on the Wii? i purchased one back in April 07, and i think i sold it in April 08. the the time that I had it, i rarely played it. i mean, the first month or two was great. my girlfriend, and I, and both of her parents were hooked on bowling. her dad had never played a video game before, and had no interest to either. But there was a couple of times where we would witness him playing for an hour or two at a time. Seemed like everytime that we had people over, we all played the Wii for the first couple of months. After that, we all lost interest. I rented a couple of games for it, like Zelda, Super Paper Mario, and Mario Party, but never played them enough to even justify the $8 we payed to rent them. Never bought a game, or seen a game that I had to have for that system, so it sat and collected dust for 8-10 months, before i sold it to a co-workers aunt for $200.

IMO, I think that the Wii is just a gimick. I work at a Wal-Mart, and i think one of the toughest questions that i have to answer is "What is a good game to get for the Wii?", when a person buys a system. I share my experience with the Wii with them, and how i feel that the innovation was great. But no matter how many Wii's we sell at our store, there is pretty much no attachments that go out the door along with it, except for the occassional WiiFit when we have them in stock. I think that the Sports is what the Wii is all about. Nintendo hit the ball out of the park, and pushed all their chips in with Wii sports. Once you play a game on the Wii, then you know that every game of that genre is going to play the same way. It might have a difference here and there, but for the most part, if you play a baseball game once, then the next game is going to be the same. You can make that arguement for every system, and every genre, but with the Wii its much more obvious. Its fun for a while, then it gets to the point where it feels like you are playing the same thing over and over again too fast. the PS2 caliber graphics dont help either. I think that the Wii's innovation was the best and worst part about it.

I've had my wii since last August and im pretty happy with it. I have a 5 year old son, so he really enjoys the sports games. I myself have a good time with MarioKart and hes learning to drive fairly well also, the wheel takes a little getting use to. Its fun for us for now, until he gets a little older and starts getting involved with the computer more.

My 2 daughters age 10 & 12 have a Wii and i think it's a great console. Ofcourse it's not like an Xbox 360 or Ps3 but that doesn't matter. Nintendo brought gaming back to a level for everyone, a real family machine. Some peeps complain about the graphics and horroble games specialy shooters... You can't expect hightech from a machine that's cost lower than an good vidcard for your computer putting all the eyecandy on in today's games

I'll find the Wii great for playing partygames with family and friends...I bought some games for myself to like NFS Prostreet and Medal of Honor Heroes 2. First person shooters are more fun behind a pc, but playing MOH on the Wii with the Wiizapper is fun to ;)

the Wii is a family console system.....not going to be the choice of more serious gamers. It's a great party system...as you guys stated...but if your looking for a 'gamers' experience...it's not going to give that too you. I think the system is inovative, and a lot of fun.

MarioKart pwns!!!! :D

Nintendo, particularly the Wii, has always geared it's games towards children and they really haven't come out with that many titles for adults, and the ones they do produce usually blow compared to their versions on other consoles.

Wii sports, mario kart, and super smash bros are the only games I've played that I enjoyed. I guess it's worth it if you've got the money to throw around.
